lives near Kirkland, Washington with her American/Italian husband Lenny, a beagle, and six accordions. She and Lenny have two sons in their 20s. Her goal has been to keep her family from chaos, which has been a full-time job.
She is the part of the third generation born to an Irish family in Butte, Montana. Patty (aka "Patrice") graduated from Butte High School, and Montana State University in Bozeman. Her husband, children, friends, four siblings, in-laws, and outlaws provide her with endless fodder for her work.
Patty wrote a weekly column called Family Life for the dearly departed King County Journal from 2001 to 2007. Below it says "View my complete profile." If you click on that it will take you to a page that has a web page link (a web page my husband created years ago to immortalize me...it must be an Italian thing). You will see my original photo and an archive of some of my early columns.
I found you ..... and I didn't even know you were out there to find. What a nice surprise. Bryan and I went to a wedding today and thought about Lenny and his accordion. It was a friend who was in her upper 60's who was remarrying today. The background music at their reception was accordion and guitar. Pretty cool.....but it just wasn't Lenny! I'll be back.
Margaret's friend went to a birthday party this weekend and there was an accordion player. We decided it was Lenny. Did he play at a 16 year old's birthday party recently? I believe the theme was French rather than Italian, however.
We're happy to know where to find your musings--and your columns are always appreciated. But having to specifically pinpoint you on the internet isn't the same as enjoying your observations among the other offerings of the now defunct Eastside Journal. There, you were an enlightening piece of the puzzle of our everyday lives mixed in with other clues to the significance of our place in this world. Though my wife and I are fans, our admiration has bounderies and we hesitate having to accommodate any more "favorite" websites. (These comments reflect our discomfort with having to replace newspaper content with contemporary computer menus). Whatever!--we await some sort of opportunity--like a low-key picnic function--to meet you, your husband, his accordian, and what ever family members are around, to compare them all to your delightful descriptions and stories about them.
